John Erik Hanson, 61

John Erik Hanson, 61, passed away from injuries received in an accident near Dover, Idaho, on Friday, Jan. 30 2009.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel. Chaplain Phil Kenzler, Bonner County Sheriff's Office, will be officiating.

John was born in Fresno, Calif., on Aug. 23, 1947. He attended school in Fresno and graduated from high school there.

He worked in the oil fields of Oklahoma and New Mexico, driving truck. In 1985, he moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, and married Naomi Landon on May 26, 2001 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

He worked for Bonner County, District 3, as an equipment operator.

John has always ridden Harley Davidson motorcycles. He purchased his current bike in 2001, and it resides in the living room of his home. He loved to take his wife, Naomi, for local rides. He has been an active member of AA for more than 18 years.

He is survived by his wife Naomi in Colburn, Idaho; four children, Jason Landon of Sandpoint, Kristy Landon of Eagle, Idaho; and Savannah Hanson and Serena Hanson, both of Wisconsin; and his sister, Maryann Hanson of Napa Valley, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edith Hanson.
