Chamber honors Sullivan as top January volunteer

| February 4, 2009 8:00 PM

Tricia Sullivan was named the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce’s Volunteer of the Month for January.

Not representing a business, Tricia Sullivan joined and became involved with the chamber to give and share her expertise to develop leaders in the nonprofit community. Sullivan has a weather of experience in everything from founding organizations to day-to-day management of nonprofits.

After joining the chamber, she connected with the Nonprofit Development Council, and shortly thereafter, proposed the council sponsor a series titled Training Workshops for Nonprofits. Donating her time and expertise, she has instructed three workshops thus far.

“Tricia has taught all of us something that we can take away and use in the organizations we represent,” said Sue Traver, chairman of the council. “She always finds a way to make each topic relevant to everyone in the audience — and there are many different non profits in Sandpoint — all with different ideas. Tricia is a true professional!” she said.

The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce is especially grateful for the amount of time and energy Tricia  Sullivan has bestowed upon the business community. “There are so many nonprofits in the Greater Sandpoint community who are benefiting from these workshops taught by Tricia,” said executive director Amy Little.
