SANDPOINT — Two felony charges have been filed against a former assistant Clark Fork clerk accused of embezzling city funds.

Sandra J. Brockus, 18, is charged with two counts of misuse of public funds.

The charges were filed on Jan. 31, according to the Idaho Statewide Trial Court Record System.

The case file remains sealed until she makes an initial appearance in the magistrate division of 1st District Court.

City officials have said Brockus was caught on video taking money from a cash box mostly containing funds the city receives from its water customers. The amount of money believed to have been taken has not been disclosed.

Depending on the amount of money at issue, Brockus faces up to five or 14 years in prison if convicted, according to Idaho Code.
