Two jailed on drug charges

SANDPOINT — Local and state police have apprehended two people in the past week who they accuse of planning to sell drugs.

Jayce D. Bordenave, 20, and Ty Reed Orsborn, 21, were arrested in unrelated traffic stops and both are charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

Bordenave was arrested Friday in a routine traffic stop at North Boyer Avenue and Schweitzer Cutoff Road. Bordenave’s pickup didn’t have the requisite front license plate and an Idaho State Police trooper said in his report he could smell the aroma of pot before he even reached the driver-side window.

A search of Bordenave’s truck turned up several bags containing an unspecified amount of the narcotic. An $880 bankroll was also found, although Bordenave told the trooper it had nothing to do with the drugs in his truck.

Orsborn was arrested on Monday, after dispatcher received a report that he was transporting drugs to Coeur d’Alene in his sedan. Sandpoint Police stopped his vehicle near Fifth and Larch. The report said an ounce of pot and a scale was found in his car.

Orsborn’s bail was set at $50,000 on Tuesday and a public defender was appointed to represent him, court records show.
