Business group delivers success, networking

Sandpoint is home to one of the larger and more successful chapters of Business Network International, the largest business networking organization in the world.

“Generating a staggering $1 million in business each year for our members, the Sandpoint chapter is made up of vetted, reliable and professional businessmen and women who are committed to helping each other be  more successful,” said Colleen Ankersmit, chapter president. “Now averaging 40 members, we couldn’t have imagined the impact BNI would have on our businesses when we began nine years ago, with only four members.”

BNI is a coalition of diverse businesses with one person representing each profession. Members build profitable business relationships and gain exposure for their businesses through a mutual support system and qualified business referrals.

Founded on the principle that “Givers Gain,” BNI members benefit from having an extended sales team that is generous and selfless in promoting and referring fellow BNI partners.

“As a first time guest, I was stunned at the enthusiasm and attentiveness of the group. While I knew a few of the members, most I did not — yet they made me feel like an old friend they were excited to hear from, said one member.”
