Duane 'Pete' Pedersen

Duane “Pete” Pedersen passed away on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at St. Mary Medical Center.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 325 NE Damson Ave., College Place, Wash.

Pete was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Aug. 19, 1955, the son of Robert and Lily Pedersen. Pete grew up in the Colburn, Idaho, area with his parents, four brothers, and sister.

After graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1973, Pete went to work for Pacific Power, and Light.

He traveled with his job throughout Pacific Northwest as a foreman and finally resided in Walla Walla, Wash.

On Oct. 9, 1987, he married Karen Posther in Walla Walla.

Pete enjoyed playing softball in a local league, visiting the cabin in Sandpoint, traveling to San Diego, and he also loved fishing and boating on the Snake River with his family and grandchildren.

Pete was a master craftsman who loved woodworking in his shop.

He used his skills to help out in the community in Walla Walla, especially on the Children’s Museum. 

He was a very giving person and he lived his life not by words but by actions. He will be remembered most as being a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.

Pete is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Sean Posther; daughter, Jennifer and Keith Farrens; and grandchildren, Zachary, Alysha, and Sabrina Farrens of Walla Walla, Wash.

 He is also survived by his sister, Carol Eich of Sandpoint; four brothers, Jerry Pedersen of Kalispell, Mont., Jack Pedersen of Colburn,  Donny Pedersen of Chino, Calif., and his twin brother, Dennis Pedersen of Irvine, Calif.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Uncle Babe Pedersen, and nephew Sean Eich all of Sandpoint, Idaho
