In the real world, sky won't fall if levy fails

In  response to the guest opinion “Learn the facts on LPOSD levy,” I would suggest that the following would be a more likely situation.

• All athletic teams would have booster benches to raise funds from willing donors and business advertisers.

• Staff and teacher layoffs would depend on the continuing migration of students to private schools.

• Band would continue with volunteers and rotating parental oversight.

• This “levy facts” guest opinion demonstrates their drama is excellent.

• The various clubs would charge dues for members.

• Reduction in elective classes would focus education on academic core subjects causing achievement testing to go up, up, up.

• The year book would have students share costs like private schools.

• The Cedar Post would have to become an interesting magazine and sell subscriptions, giving the first taste of the real business world.

• “No more new textbooks” ever? Textbooks must  not be needed, they were not in the regular income budget. Where are the old ones?

• Larger classes would have excelling students help failing ones, like it used to be.

• Student cost would be less than a cell text phone w/sub, Game Boy, Game Cube, Wii, Nike tennis shoes and etc. Students could “text” each other with pencil and paper, we called them notes.

I just wanted to point out that the “sky is not falling” as claimed by Chicken Little.
