Starlight Race Series continues

SANDPOINT — It was déjà vu on Friday the 13th at the Starlight Race Series, hosted by Schweitzer Mountain Resort. Matt Gillis posted the fastest overall time again at 19.2 seconds, and team “Rusty Springs” grabbed the top spot for the second week in a row.

Debra Rawuka was the fastest female skier, 23.12 seconds, and close behind was the fastest Telemark Skier Suzanne Pattinson coming in at 23.57. Jason Foy was the top snowboarder, 22.96 seconds, and Autumn Klukezech posted the top female snowboarder time at 29.46 seconds.

“There was quite a bit of smack talk between the top teams” said Tom Chasse, President and CEO of Schweitzer Mountain Resort and “Rusty  Springs” team member. “It’s nice to have that friendly rivalry and great enthusiasm.”

The Starlight Race Series will continue each Friday night through March 6, with festivities at Taps after each night of racing, starting at 6 p.m.
