District levy is akin to economic slavery

| February 18, 2009 8:00 PM

I will vote no because it is nothing less than economic slavery. A never ending tax and spend rake-off. This is a prime example of a public school district where indentured slavery is the norm. A district of intellectuals and publicists whose job is to primarily confuse the public about their true intentions. A levy that benefits a vested interest group, as it rapes home, land, property owners and renters. It is wise to remember that when the host dies, the parasites will also.

Clichés? Yes, the same old clichés, i.e. for the children, for the community, for a better future, your civic duty. Not really. It’s about maintaining and growing salaries and pensions along with the progressive (another word for centralized socialism) agenda. Perhaps the superintendent would consider a pay cut and perhaps they should get back to basics in education instead of a curriculum that touts social activism.

Superintendent? I would say super mismanagement. In the midst of an economic collapse which is nowhere near the bottom and a declining enrollment, we are asked to support levy after levy. What will they thrust upon us when trillions of worthless freshly printed dollars kick us into hyper-inflation? Are we to simply sign over the title to our homes to the LPOSD, where doublespeak and intimidation prevail?

Vote “no” and hold this superintendent and school board accountable to the taxpayers. That is the honorable thing to do “for the children,” “for the community,” and “for a better future.”
