We can't give in to the district's fearmongering

| February 18, 2009 8:00 PM

Bonner County Daily Bee articles: Feb. 10; Obama, Stimulus to avoid “catastrophe;” Feb. 11, LPOSD: Levy loss would end all activities; County commissioners ponder levy for juvenile lockup; Feb. 14 letters to editor; “preserve education,” levy failure to devastate schools, levy’s failure definitely hurts students.

What do all these articles/letters have in common? They utilize the age old political propaganda technique of fearmongering.

The token head in the White House used it to achieve President Pelosi’s anti-American agenda while here at home the LPOSD and teacher’s union is using the same tactic. In this regard they are threatening you, the easily frightened, with elimination of all activities at all public schools including access to current computers unless you vote for yet again another tax increase. (Oh, I forgot, it won’t be any more than the current tax increase.)

Then the county decides to get in on the gravy tax train and demands millions for a new 34-bed juvenile jail. This is the same bunch of corrupt commissioners who tried, on behalf of the Rocky Mountain Corrections Corporation, to sneak a tax in without a vote but was denied by Judge Hosack.

The last bit of fearmongering were the letters with all the principals, teachers, administrators, athletic directors, and whoever spouting the same fear propagandized by the LPOSD, after all this is were the “talking” point’s come from.

Well my frightened little lemmings, run, hide, stay away from the “intimidating” voting booths (schools) and let these fear mongers have their way, after all the salaries we pay them are what’s keeping this economy going.  What has happened to the real Americans, they would never have left this country sink so badly. Vote no to all.
