Help communities and maybe we'll benefit, too

On the stimulus package being considered and all the discontent, give this a thought …

Contact all mayors of all towns and have them present their needs and wishes….

Like our town of Sandpoint with the “bypass” and a sewer system upgrade needed, Spokane with their wish of a light rail system … grant all these requests with a no-interest loan to be repaid back to our government over say 20-30 years.

Our infrastructure is badly in need of repairs — bridges, roads etc. … these could be replaced giving employment to many and the costs still be repaid to the government, which would actually not be out one penny except having to wait for the payment.

This would give us the taxpayers their money’s worth.

This baling out of industries who have in the past have taken jobs overseas where labor was cheap should not even be considered — let them go belly-up. Their CEOs collecting millions and us taxpayers have to save them — no way. As for the politicians and their pork barrel and buddies projects’ — no to that as well.

If we have to bail these jokers who got us in this mess in the first place,  let’s consider some plan like this — at least we will get our money’s worth.
