Efforts continuing to achieve PSNI's dream

| February 25, 2009 8:00 PM

Thank you to the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce membership for the incredible honor of my being chosen as Sandpoint Citizen of the Year.

This recognition would never have been possible had it not been for this amazing community and the support given to our “Pay it Forward for Panhandle Special Needs” project. The organizations, businesses, churches and individuals which gave of their time, efforts, and money to see that our disabled citizens have a more pleasant and efficient place to work, study and learn has been accomplished and the “ugly duckling” of a building has now been turned into a “beautiful swan.”

The dedication and hard work has paid off, and we, the staff, participants, parents, caregivers and volunteers are all so grateful to everyone that has helped in a myriad of ways to see the mission accomplished.

But our work is not yet finished. We are striving to furnish PSNI with all the other electronic equipment and important items needed to more fully serve our participants. It is an ongoing project, so your help will still be needed.

Thank you to our Women’s Circle that started this entire project with the small amount of $100, and with the community support we were able to raise more than $80,000. Incredible.

So, this honor is not only mine, but to all of us that made this dream a reality, my sincere gratitude to one and all.
