SVBC U14 team victorious again
SPOKANE — The SVBC U14 team traveled to Spokane last weekend to participate in the 16 team East Valley Sizzler Tournament. They went 2-1 in pool play for the morning, beating East Valley Heat and Deer Park Spikes and losing to Performance, which was the No.1 seed of the tournament, by scores of 25-19, 25-20.
Sandpoint began the afternoon in the championship round and beat the Crimson Crush in three games. They then moved on to the semi-finals and dispatched the East Valley Illusion in two games.
In the championship match, Sandpoint rolled through the Pullman Crush in two quick games. Sandpoint came out ready to play and stepped up to the challenge. Their serving proved to be too much for Pullman and they were able to put in a strong passing game.
Coached by Cindy Derr and assisted by Courtenay Kiebert, the U14’s will play next in the Snake River Tournament in Lewiston on March 14.
