Show of concern is far cry from usual actions

| January 12, 2009 8:00 PM

The New Year's Day rescue of the moose which fell through the ice on Priest Lake was indeed impressive and reflected the empathy which the rescuers showed toward their fellow creature.

How different this show of concern is from the practice of shooting deer and elk for the pleasure of hunters, despite all the rationale of needing food or culling for the benefit of the victims.
