Thornton paces Cats in win

CLARK FORK - Led by Brocklynn Thornton's game-high 15 points and Mandy Martin's 11, the Wampus Cats were able to dominate the paint en route to a 55-22 North Star League girls basketball win over Mullan Wednesday night in Clark Fork.

"Great play under the bucket by both of them," said Cats coach Dexter Vogel of his two post players. "We had a lot of good passing and the girls were hustling up and down the floor tonight."

Zara Palmer and Celeste Komanec each added six for the Cats (5-8, 4-2 NSL), who held the Tigers to single digit scoring in every quarter, and Pebbles Potter scored four.

Nicki Axman tallied eight to lead Mullan (2-12, 1-4 NFL).

Clark Fork is at league-leading Lakeside on Friday night.
