Sandpoint Furniture selected 'Business of the Month'

"It is an honor and privilege to introduce the Business of the Month for January," said Chamber board member Peggy Shadel at the January Power Luncheon. "Sandpoint Furniture is very involved in the community both monetarily and physically," she said, "helping at fundraisers and supporting many community events."  Additionally, they provide a long-standing tradition of excellent service.

Sandpoint Furniture, located on Bonner Mall Way in Ponderay, was established in 1945. Mike Gunter, Dwight Sheffler, and Dale Jeffres purchased the store from Bob Farmin, Chuck Bonar, and Bob Nelson in 1984.

The store offers a higher quality product at competitive prices because of their membership with Pacific Furniture Dealers. Products include lines such as Lane, Broyhill, Simmons, Flexsteel, and many others.

In 1995 they joined Carpet One Floor & Home and became known as Sandpoint Furniture Carpet One.  They provide a full line of hardwood, ceramic and natural stone tiles, laminate floors, commercial carpet, and custom window blinds.

In 2006 they continued to grow with their purchase of Luminesce Lighting giving customers access to over 100 lighting lines and a wealth of lighting and design expertise. The most recent addition was Selkirk Glass & Cabinets offering a full line of better cabinetry, windows, and doors.

The second generation of Gunters, Shefflers, and Jeffres came in as owners of Sandpoint Furniture in 2007. Clint Gunter, Ross Granier, Carmin Sheffler, Nathan Jeffres, Eric Jeffres, and John Darling are now continuing the long tradition of providing customers with outstanding products with the same customer service and knowledge that people have come to expect over the last 63 years!
