Bulldogs lose wrestling dual

SANDPOINT - Garret Belgarde, the top ranked 103 pound wrestler in the state, moved up a class and scored a decisive pin over Chad Booth at 112 pounds to lead Sandpoint, which fell 55-21 to Post Falls in IEL dual action Tuesday night at Les Rogers Court.

Colter Sigman (130 pounds) continues to improve of late for the Bulldogs, pinning Nick Floden at 4:29 in a tightly-contested match. Sid Winter (140) won by pin, and Leonard Fister (152) shut out Josh Erickson 3-0 for Sandpoint's other points.

Head coach Mike Randles forfeited four of the weight classes, which essentially means the Bulldogs are down 24-0 before the match even starts.

"We won four of the 10 matches that took place," said Randles, noting they were very close in two others. "That's what we have to work on right now."

Prior to the Post Falls dual, Colter Sigman (130), Sid Winter (140) and Leonard Fister (152) won their matches against wrestlers from Kellogg, in a four-match nonleague exhibition.

Sandpoint is at the Minico Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
