SANDPOINT - Authorities have made another arrest in a Clark Fork drug-dealing case.

Walter Kenneth Hayes IV was arrested Monday on four counts of delivery of a controlled substance and ordered held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Judge Debra Heise sustained Hayes' bail during an initial court appearance on Thursday.

Hayes has obtained private counsel to represent him, according to court documents.

Charging papers said Hayes aided and abetted the sale of marijuana to an 18-year-old subject on Nov. 20, 2008. The customer in that alleged transaction is also being sought for arrest on unspecified charges, court records indicate.

Hayes, 21, is also accused of selling marijuana to a Bonner County Sheriff's narcotic agent on Dec. 23, 2008, Jan. 8 and Jan. 20, according to the criminal complaint.

Hayes' arrest comes almost a week after two other subjects were arrested on a similar set of felony drug charges during a similar time frame. Danny Charles Marshall, 37, of Clark Fork, is facing four counts of delivery of a controlled substance. Valerie Sue Marshall, 49, is charged with aiding and abetting the sale of narcotics earlier this month.

Two others were arrested on misdemeanor drug-possession charges. All five arrests followed searches conducted last week at the Meriwether Inn and a residence at 54,116 Highway 200, court records show.

Two more people, including the person Hayes allegedly provided drugs to last year, are being sought for arrest, court documents indicate.
