St. MARIES — Tyler Gordon and Matt Kingsley had big days at the plate, and Tevin Hamilton threw a gem to lead the Riley Creek Lakers to their sixth straight win in a doubleheader sweep of St. Maries recently in American Legion action.

Gordon ripped three hits and drove in three runs in game one, a 7-2 win in which Cole Tonnemacher won his fifth decision of the year. Joel Cramer and Tonnemacher each added two hits for the Lakers (11-5).

Kingsley had his best offensive game of the season, going 2-3 with a triple while driving in five runs in the second game, which the Lakers won 10-1. Tonnemacher, Cory Neer and David Dishong each added two hits to back Hamilton, who sparkled in garnering his first win of the season. He pounded the strike zone, whiffing 10 batters in a five inning complete game.

The Lakers play in the Spokane Wooden Bat Tournament today and Saturday, before heading to Orofino for a league game on Sunday.
