Hospital staff delivered top-notch health care
After living in Bonner County for the past four years, and hearing mixed tales of quality of service at Bonner General Hospital, I recently had an opportunity to test this service, when last week, I had a partial right knee replacement, at the hospital. I have had four other surgeries on both knees, three of those in Seattle with a surgeon who used to be an orthopedic surgeon for the Seattle Seahawks, and the original surgery in 1978 from a surgeon in Los Angeles who used to be head surgeon for the Los Angeles Rams. I had researched both surgeons long before the surgeries, finding them to be, at the time, cutting edge (pardon the pun) doctors for this type of joint repair.
My right knee got so sore and painful, on a daily basis, that I decided to have a local orthopedic surgeon replace my right knee. I chose Doctor Douglas Cipriano and found him to be an extremely competent orthopedic surgeon. Throughout the entire process, from initial office contact till the actual surgery, he continued to keep me abreast of what was needed and what and how he was going to do for completing the repair.
I was out of surgery for a week and was already able to walk without crutches.
During my stay at the hospital, I was treated with the best of care by a wonderful array of hospital personnel, from the initial sign-in until my discharge four days later. Thank you Anna (registered nurse) and Joy (certified nursing assistant) for your humor and caring attitude. I cannot say enough positive about the considerate, professional doctors and nurses at Bonner General Hospital. Thank you for being so good.
