Ill-conceived proposal needs to be scrapped
The proposed food bill is not completely thought through, and should not be passed until it is.
It is unrealistic and an intrusion of privacy to control the way crops are grown and harvested, or to track the food that private farmers grow. It is unfair to expect small food sellers to pay a $500 registration fee. This will mean many people who earn a small amount of money by selling food they produce, will lose that small income. I only buy organic vegetables, and it is very important to me, to be able to feed my family with food that I believe is healthy. This includes food sold at roadside stands, and grown by small farmers.
My own freedom, including “the pursuit of happiness” includes this. I am very much against pesticides, hormones, antibiotics for animals that are grown to feed humans, and many other things. Please don’t pass this.
