SANDPOINT — Sam Nitcy drove in Ryan Schwartz in extra innings to help lead the Panhandle Babe Ruth All-Stars to their first win of the season Monday night in a doubleheader sweep against Libby at War Memorial Field.

Nitcy pitched the first four innings before Jake Clad relieved and finished the game, and Tucker Davis and Caleb Nishimoto were hot with the bats to lead Panhandle (2-2) to an 8-7 win in the opener.

In the nightcap, Ryan Swartz pitched three quality innings and flashed some stellar defense at shortstop in the 7-5 win. Panhandle rallied in the third inning on a roped double by Hans Feyen, and Nishimoto went 2-2 from the plate.

Panhandle would like to thank Coldwater Creek for the purchase of the All-Star uniforms. The team travels to Middleton this weekend for the Middleton Invitational Babe Ruth Tournament, before heading to Lewiston on July 14 for a doubleheader.
