Lakedance Film Festival, Schweitzer end partnership

Sandpoint’s international film festival since 2006 will no longer be called the Schweitzer Lakedance Film Festival, as Schweitzer Mountain and Lakedance have come to the end of their title sponsorship arrangement, and the parties have elected to not renew. Instead, the film festival will simply be “Lakedance.”

“It was a great partnership and we both reaped many rewards” said Lakedance festival director Trevor Greenfield. “We thank Schweitzer and their team for helping us build Lakedance into an internationally recognized film festival, but we need to look forward with new strategies for the future.”

Schweitzer sponsored the festival since 2006, but later became title sponsors in 2007 when that position was opened by festival management. Since that time the film festival has swelled to include more than 30 events and screen more than 50 independent films over eight days.

Lakedance is now actively searching for a title sponsor to join their list of more than 30 presenting and official sponsors. Interested parties should contact Fred Greenfield, marketing director at 208-597-0961 or fred@lakedance.com.

Lakedance 2009 will take place Oct. 31-Nov. 8 in Sandpoint, screening 50 independent films from around the world as well as film-related events.
