Lakers split with Silver Valley
SANDPOINT — Tevin Hamilton continues to emerge as another ace for the Lakers, tossing a complete game three-hitter with seven strikeouts to lead the Riley Creek Lakers to an 11-1 win in the nightcap of a doubleheader split with Silver Valley Saturday at War Memorial Field.
Jordan Hammack and Cole Tonnemacher each hit home runs and collected two hits to lead the Lakers (16-11), and Scott Snow and Joel Cramer each added two hits.
Hammack and Tyler Gordon each had three hits in the first game, but base running miscues and not enough timely hits proved costly, as the Lakers lost 7-5. Cramer hit a solo home run among his two hits, and Snow and Nick Halpin also collected two hits to lead the offense. Tonnemacher and Gordon split time on the mound in the loss.
The Lakers doubleheader at Moscow on Monday was canceled. They host Lewiston in a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. at War Memorial Field.
