Felines should be declared dangerous
This is a public service announcement. There are dangerous animals lurking in our midst! My wife recently was bitten by a house cat. In the following days, she has received volumes of antibiotics, IV infusions, severe pain and swelling and a two-day hospital stay. Fortunately, she is now recovering.
After hearing numerous horror stories from the medical personnel and others about cat bites, I believe the public needs to be educated.
These animals should be listed under poisonous creatures, somewhere between black widows and rattlesnakes. It is also my opinion they should also be kept in secure cages, affixed with abundant warning labels and kept in secure locations to be handled only by courageous people trained in handling dangerous creatures.
I will admit, however, to having a pretty dim view of house cats prior to this unfortunate experience of ours.
