Dogs, not cats, are the real menace

| July 18, 2009 9:00 PM

Before we label cats under the heading of “creatures somewhere between black widows and rattlesnakes,” and incarcerating them in cages, I think we should take all pit bulls, rottweillers and combinations thereof and put them in some kind of compound where they don’t come in contact with human beings.

And further we should prohibit anyone from owning more than one dog and that said dog be kept fenced in and/or caged at all times, not allowed to run loose under any circumstances and certainly not on county roads where people may be running, walking or cycling.

Oh and did I mention that I, on a bicycle, was bitten by a dog running in a pack along Jacobsen Road, said dog not being current on its rabies shots which in turn caused me great anxiety for ten days while it was determined if said dog was rabid or not?

Meanwhile my loveable little ragdoll cat Zoe looks wwup at me with her baby blue eyes and says “I love you Mom.”
