Trees offer many community benefits

| July 18, 2009 9:00 PM

I wanted to give my vote to trees. Walking under  the shade of a building is cooling, but walking under a leafy shade is nourishing and vitalizing as well.

As we step into this time of change and transformation our connection to the earth and wisely valuing all that it provides is more important then ever.

Recognizing the nourishment and resources so freely given and our ability to respond from a place of Stewardship and awareness is as vital a piece of our learning curve as learning a marketable trade.

Aside from shade and vitality for me personally, trees effect the climate for the planet as well as a multitude of other things.

What if we actually increased our trees both in their variety and their usage.

For example- if we planted lots nut trees we would be growing a valuable protein source for future generations of our community. Just imagine, walking down the street and doing your shopping.

Sounds good to me — see you on the street for lunch
