Ruth Rose Venable, 84
Ruth Rose Venable, 84, of Wildomar, Calif., and Clark Fork, Idaho, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009, at Inland Valley Hospital.
Ruth was born on Dec. 20, 1924, to Johannes (John) and Ruuadji (Ruth) Seipida Swierstra in Henderson, Colo. In 1927, the family moved to Dominguez Junction in Compton, Calif., where the family started their own dairy.
Ruth married William Elwood Venable on June 10, 1950 in Bellflower, Calif., They were married almost 50 years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carolee Karstetter of Glasford, Ill., and Marily (and Cory) Whittier of Wildo-mar; three grandchildren, Justin Kar-stetter, Aaron (and Anne) Kar-stetter and Melissa Northern; a brother, John (and Mary) Swierstra of Rohnerville, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.
She belonged to an equestrian drill team before her marriage. Ruth was a long-standing member of the Elsinore Women’s Club and a past president from 1965-1967. Ruth was a member of the Murrieta United Methodist Church for 44 years and a member of the Clark Fork United Methodist Church as well
Ruth and Bill lived in the Lake Elsinaore and Murrieta area for almost 30 years until his retirement in 1988.
They spent their summers in Clark Fork, and their winters as “snowbirds” in the Wildomar area.
Cremation rites were accorded and her ashes will be brought to Idaho for a memorial service scheduled for July 26, 2009, at 12:30 p.m. at Clark Fork United Methodist Church. A memorial service also is scheduled for Aug. 23, 2009, at 12:30 p.m. at the Murrieta united Methodist Church in Murrieta, Calif.
