Nancy Jean McFarland, 75
Nancy Jean McFarland, 75, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2009 in Sandpoint, Idaho. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 24, 2009 at the First Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Olson officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery.
Nancy was born Oct. 20, 1933 in Denver, Colo., to Gustave W. Kornemann and Carmen Swan. She grew up and attended schools in Denver, graduating there from East High School. She went on to further her education at Colorado State University earning her bachelor’s degree, and was a member of Tri-Delta Sorority.
Nancy lived in Palos Verdes, Calif., for 25 years, and then several years in Big Bear, Calif. In 1981 she moved to Evergreen, Colo., and in 1992 she moved to Cocolalla, Idaho.
Nancy’s various careers included; stewardess for United Airlines, entrepreneur, real estate broker and church organist.
She is a member of the First Lutheran Church in Sandpoint, and a 52- year member of P.E.O. She enjoyed music, played the piano for 70 years, and began playing the harp in recent years. She also enjoyed being of service to others, gardening, fishing, and baking.
She is survived by a son, Mark (JoEllen) McFarland of Englewood, Colo.; two grandsons, Eli and Benjamin McFarland; a sister, Laura Olson of Boulder, Colo.; an aunt, Jeri Pickup of Coeur d’Alene; and cousins Judi, Laura and Jon Lundak of Sandpoint. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Weston Kornemann.
