Andrew Philip Curran Watkins, 10

Andrew Philip Curran Watkins, 10, of Lincoln University, Pa., died July 18 at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Pa.

He was the son of Justin J. and Marie Morris Watkins. Andrew was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Oxford. He was proud to have been the youngest participant in a study that led to the first treatment ever for the terminal genetic disorder, MPS Type II.

In addition to his parents, Andrew is survived by his brother, Bill Watkins; sister, Lauren Watkins; maternal grandmother, Mary J. Morris of Aston; paternal grandparents, Jim and Ruth Watkins of Sandpoint, Idaho; and paternal great-grandparents, James and Carolyn Watkins of Sarasota, Fla..

Mass was held on Wednesday, July 22, at Sacred Heart Church in Oxford. Donations in Andrew’s memory may be made to the National MPS Society, P.O. Box 14868, Durham, NC 27709-4686.
