| July 24, 2009 9:00 PM

SAGLE — Area pet owners have a new resource with the opening of Fry Creek Animal Clinic, a full-service veterinary clinic.

Led by Dr. Marvelee Higgins, Fry Creek offers exams, in-house lab work, X-ray diagnostics, dental cleaning and extractions, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, dermatology analysis and treatment, as well as spay and neuter services.

A fourth-generation Bonner County resident, Higgins dreamt of bringing a veterinary clinic to south Bonner County for 15 years. Higgins graduated cum laude from veterinary school, is a member of the North Idaho Veterinary Medical Association and spent the last two with the Bonner Humane Society.

The clinic’s mission is to provide professional, compassionate veterinary medical care and to grow with Bonner County. Higgins, along with office manager Barb Duncan and lead technician Brandy Freiburger, also hope to expand into kennel and groomer services in the future.

The clinic, located at 470889 U.S. 95, is holding a grand opening celebration today from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
