Albert Stanley Alexander

Albert Stanley Alexander, better known to his friends and family as “Babe,” passed away on July 21, 2009, at his home in Phoenix, Ariz., after a two-year battle with cancer.

There will be no funeral and a memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

Babe was born in Grouse Creek, Idaho, on Dec. 20, 1936, to Roy and Jessie Alexander. He graduated from Sandpoint High School in Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1955.

He later joined the Marine Corps, where he served his two years. After his release from  he Marines he pursued the love of his life, golf. He worked hard and received his PGA card and worked numerous golf courses in Washington, Wyoming, California and Arizona during his career.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers, Marvin, Lewis and Bob; sisters, Marie, and Nancy; and daughter, Cindy. He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Laura and Susan; sisters, Virginia and Ruth Ann; stepson, Johnaton Baker; and grandchildren.

Babe will be greatly missed by a multitude of friends from high school and all his golfing connections, which were his life. Babe was very outgoing. He could walk into a cold quiet room of people and have them singing and spreading further warmness.

He will be missed by all who met him.
