CdA Youth Triathlon nearing
COEUR d’ALENE — Kids of all ages will be paddling, pedaling and prodding their way around a race course that magically changes size as the age group of the children changes. The 18th Annual Coeur d’Alene Youth Triathlon will take place Sunday, Aug. 9 at 8 a.m. at the Coeur d’Alene City Park.
There will be five different categories this year, including: 5-6 year-olds, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14, and new this year will be the addition of a Special Needs category. The oldest age group will kick off the start of the race and with each succeeding age group, the race volunteers shrink the course to accommodate the skill/age level.
Under the direction of race coordinator Eydie Kendall and approximately 75 volunteers, the race is well organized and safe with all of the big person triathlon perks such as swim cap, t-shirts, body marking, and finisher medals for all.
