DSBA seeks board nominations
SANDPOINT — The Downtown Sandpoint Business Association is seeking nominations for the group’s board of directors. There are five open positions for a two year term ending September 2011.
All persons wishing to be nominated must either present a petition, by Friday, Aug. 14, that has been signed by five active business owners or be nominated by the DSBA board of directors. Business owners or employees representing any business in good standing may be nominated.
Jennifer Leedy (Century 21), Ben Tate (Finan McDonald), Pierre Bordenave (Inter Mountain Resources) and Grant Merwin (Merwin’s) are the board member whose positions are open this year.
The role of a DSBA board member is to manage, set policy for and oversee the management of the affairs of the downtown association.
Elections are Tuesday, Sept. 8. Ballots will be mailed to all businesses within the BID by Aug. 20. Ballots will be due in the DSBA office, either by mail, fax or personal delivery by 5 p.m. on Sept. 8.
The Downtown Sandpoint Business Association was established in 1996 as a non-profit 501(c)6 organization.
The DSBA administers the BID contract with the city of Sandpoint and receives other support through fundraising efforts.
The mission of the DSBA is to work in a cooperative effort with the community to enhance the economic vitality and the aesthetic character of Sandpoint for this and future generations.
