Work on bypass should be done during the night

| June 3, 2009 9:00 PM

Having just cooled my heels for a blood pressure pounding hour and fifteen minutes flat on the Long Bridge in an ill-conceived desire to go to Sandpoint, I have concluded we are managed by idiots. Less anyone failed to notice, I will point out there is only one highway into Sandpoint from the south and blocking it during peak traffic in the first booming days of the summer season is insanity.

We know Idaho Transportation Department doesn’t give a rip, the contractor Parsons doesn’t care, and the mayor and Sandpoint City Council wallow in befuddlement. To my astonishment, the four-mile long line of stuck suffers did not begin to lean on horns of protest. I do protest.

The pave-the-waterfront project is elucidating homicidal impulses from otherwise lovable travelers, none of which would occur if we were not being managed by morons.
