Golf clinics are offered

SANDPOINT — Sandpoint Parks and Rec is offering two local golf youth clinics with instruction provided by the Idaho Club.

n First Swingers Golf Lessons

This six-session clinic for boys and girls ages 5-9 is held on Tuesdays, June 16, 23, 30, July 7, and 14 from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. The Idaho Club will provide instruction and lessons will take place at the Driving Range at Travel America Park, three miles south of the long bridge. 

Class is $35 per person (city residents receive a $4 discount). Pre-register at Parks and Rec at 1123 Lake St. by June 11, 2009.

These lessons emphasize fun, safety, and discovery of this great life sport. There are a limited number of loaner clubs available, if needed please send a note with your registration form listing participant height, age, and if they are right or left handed. 

n PGA Medalist Program

The PGA Medalist program for ages 10-17 and will run on Tuesday’s June 16, 23, 30, July 7, and 14 from 5-6 p.m. The Idaho Club will provide instruction and lessons will take place at the Driving Range at Travel America Park, three miles south of the long bridge. Participants need to have successfully completed the beginning program or be experienced players. Class is $45 per person (city residents receive a $4 discount). Pre-register at Parks and Rec at1123 Lake St. by June 11, 2009.

The PGA designs this course: golfers receive individual and group coaching enabling them to meet pre-set goals. Successful completion of this program ensures that the junior player is capable of handling his/her self on the golf course.
