Where did standard bearer of freedom go?

| June 6, 2009 9:00 PM

Is there no end to  the embarrassment the Obama  administration can generate for the American people worldwide?  One of the headlines  in a recent  Bee on the national scene is  “U.S. inviting Iranian diplomats to July 4th parties.” That country  is racing to complete a nuclear device to wipe our only  ally in the Middle East off  the face of the planet. They have continually thumbed their nose at Obama and his naïve approach at diplomacy,  their stubborn  defiance of this administrations well meaning dialog  is spreading. North Korea is on the loose, they are testing long range missiles and conducting underground nuclear tests. Maybe some of their diplomats could come to the party too.

Tim Geitner is in China trying to persuade them to continue buying our bonds. While speaking at the University in Peking,  the auditorium roared with the students laughter when he described  the dollar as sound and China’s stake in our country safe. I don’t think we’ll see fireworks on the 4th on Tiananmen Square. The spending that has tripled the deficit in four months with no end in sight certainly has diminished our international  prominence.

Pravda,  the venerable Russian paper,  had an article recently describing America’s transition from Capitalism to Marxism without as much as a whimper from the “sheeple.”

The world wonders what has happened to the standard bearer of freedom,  who stood their ground for what was right whether popular or not. I feel we have already surrendered a lot to this new regime in a very short period. One has to wonder what the state of our beautiful country will be in four years. I think America needs to have another big Tea Party for our 4th of July celebration,  if it’s legal for conservatives to assemble by then.
