Agencies do great job of handling classified items
In today’s “letters to the editor” (June 9), I find that the Daily Bee has done a marvelous thing. A letter to our elected federal officials asks some pretty pointed questions about the president’s birth. Recently, I asked five publications to question the handling of classified materials in our federal government agencies, i.e. the House of Representatives, the Senate and White House. Of the five publications, the only one with courage to print my letter was the Daily Bee.
I have just received confirmation that the five most trusted entities — Air Force, Marine Corps, Army, Navy and Coast Guard — all do a very good job of handling classified material. The least trusted agencies — U.S. House, U.S. Senate and White House — do very little to nothing in guarding our secrets.
According to a Spokane newspaper on June 9, the head of the CIA points this very fact out but not as clearly as I would like to see from the rest of the elected officials.
Recently the Bee received some awards for excellence. Here is one for courage. Keep up the good work.
