Deadline to enter Sandpoint Shootout is Friday

SANDPOINT — Attention local youth basketball players interested in a little tune-up for Hoopfest, or just anyone looking to support a great cause and play in a fun basketball tournament: The deadline to enter the Sandpoint Shootout youth 3-on-3 basketball tournament is this Friday.

Sponsored by the Bulldog Bench, the long-time tournament will be held Saturday, June 20, at the Sandpoint High School parking lot. All proceeds from the tournament benefit the SMS and SHS athletic programs.

The one-day, double-elimination tournament is open to all area players from second grade through high school. Each team will play a minimum of three games, with field goals counting as one point and 3-pointers as two.

So round up some friends, put a team of four together and come out for a fun day of hoops.
