Variety of youth tennis classes offered

SANDPOINT — Registration for 2009 youth tennis season is underway at Sandpoint Parks and Recreation, located at 1123 Lake St. Partial scholarships are available on a need basis. For more information call Sandpoint Parks and Rec. at 263-3613.

n Tennis for Hot Hitters (Ages 6-7)

Special training techniques and toys will be used to keep our Hot Hitters smiling and having fun. Lessons are held at Lakeview Park, Monday through Thursday from 9-10 a.m. Class fee is $23 (City $3 discount)

Session No. 2 for Hot Hitters begins Monday through Thursday, June 22 - 25. This session is almost full so register soon.

n Tennis for Intermediate Youth (Ages 8-12)

These lessons teach fundamentals, strategy and play. Beginning lessons or play experience is required. All sessions are held at Lakeview Park Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon. The class is filling quickly so register soon.

n Tennis Teen Intensive Skill Development (high school varsity)

This class is for players that have previous playing experience. Participants will work on stroke refinement, movement, strategy and what it takes to become a high school varsity level tennis player. All sessions are held at Lakeview Park Monday through Thursday, from noon to 1 p.m. Class fee is $23 (City $3 discount).
