Brian Farber Pro Soccer Camp returns to Sandpoint

SANDPOINT — Boasting a different name and even more top-notch coaches, professional soccer player Brian Farber is bringing his camp back to Sandpoint for another great year.

The Next Level Football Academy, a week-long soccer camp for both boys and girls, will be held at Farmin-Stidwell from June 22-26, offering professional coaching as well as a great time to the scores of area youth soccer players.

Farber, in the midst of a stellar season for the USL’s Portland Timbers, is hoping to build off the success of last year’s camp, where more than 150 kids participated.

Coaching with Farber this year will be Evan McNeley, a former teammate of Farber’s on the Stockton Cougars who is currently playing for the New Jersey Ironmen. Pedro Lupercio (Cougars), Hugo Brambila (Cougars), Sam Kenyan, Eric Pohl (University of San Diego), Briggs Anderson (Idaho Thunder) and former Sandpoint and Gonzaga standout Conor Baranski will also be on hand, much to Farber’s delight.

“Adding Conor was a huge deal for me,” said Farber, who remembers watching Baranski at Gonzaga. “It’s huge for Sandpoint; more tradition coming back and helping kids get to that next level.”

Like last year, campers will get a soccer ball, bag and T-Shirt along with expert tutelage. Campers can also sign up the morning of the camp, and scholarships are available by e-mailing “nextlevelfootballers@gmail.com.”
