'Czar' bodes ill for our constitutional rights

| June 22, 2009 9:00 PM

The word “czar” means autocrat. which means: One who is invested with or assumes absolute independent power over others. Obama at this writing has an unprecedented 27 czar positions in his administration.

Today I will focus on the regulatory czar: Cass R. Sunstein. He professes that “Citizens rights exist only to the extent that they are granted by the government.” He believes that we should celebrate paying taxes, to him without taxes there would be no liberty. He believes there is no liberty without dependency. He wants to squelch our free speech to the extent of more rules and regulations by government for our own good.

Sunstein holds the radical view that our Constitution is a “living breathing document” giving way to modern day interpretation with modern day context in mind allowing creation of legislation from the judicial bench.

To learn more about Cass R. Sunstein you can go to Google Book Search or Amazon.com. To read his writings, his books, etc. reveals a man befitting of the czar title.

He would devalue our precious Constitution with his own ideology and want for power. Mr. Sunstein now sits in a position of no oversight and no accountability except to the White House and Obama.

The czars operate with impunity and require no Senate confirmation hearings. They just get appointed. Be aware of this and in particular to regulatory czar Cass R. Sunstein.” Your freedoms and liberty are at great risk.
