| June 22, 2009 9:00 PM

SANDPOINT — The Sandpoint High School parking lot was transformed into a sea of hoops on Saturday, which can only mean one thing: the Sandpoint Shootout 3-on-3 basketball tournament was back in town.

The one-day tournament, which benefits the SHS and SMS athletic programs, drew 48 youth teams from around the region, and was played on 11 makeshift courts. Tournament organizer Dave DeMers was pleased with the turnout, noting they had to add two more courts than in the previous year.
