SANDPOINT — Lefty Cole Tonnemacher ran his record to 4-1 on the season, tossing a three-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts to lead the Riley Creek Lakers to a 10-0 win over St. Maries Thursday at War Memorial Field.

Tonnemacher has now struck out 43 hitters in just 28 innings of work on the season, anchoring the surging Lakers (8-5) pitching staff. He features an above average fastball, sharp breaking ball and a sinking forkball.

Joel Cramer laced three doubles and a triple to lead the offense, and Nick Halpin raised his average back over .400 on the year, going 4-5 with three RBIs in the game. Halpin leads the Lakers in runs scored and stolen bases.

Sherman Ewing turned in a defensive gem at second base, leaping high to spear a liner as the Lakers made all of the routine plays in the field.

The second half of the doubleheader was still going at press time.
