On Feb. 12, 1809, Abraham Lincoln was born. This man went from an uneducated country boy to the president of the United States and yet he is arguably he best president our nation has ever seen. It was Abraham Lincoln who led our country through one of the hardest times it ever experienced.
During the darkest hours of the Civil War, a preacher commented to President Lincoln that he hoped that God was on their side. Lincoln paused before answering, “I am not at all concerned about that, for I know that the Lord is always on the side of right. But it is my constant anxiety and prayer that I — and this nation — should be on the Lord’s side.”
It would do all Americans well to stop and ponder, are we on the Lord’s side.
