Four Top Dogs nab wrestling titles

LIBBY, Mont. — Eleven Top Dog wrestlers kicked off their off-season schedule by competing at Libby, Montana’s Kootenai Classic last weekend. With nearly 500 competitors in attendance, three of the Top Dogs captured titles. Casey Randles posted three consecutive victories to win the 95-pound class. Relying on sound technique, Owen Stebbins posted four consecutive victories to mow his way through the 103-pound class. Fellow Top Dog Hyrum Hunsaker also posted four consecutive victories to capture the 80-pound title. Also placing for the Top Dogs were Scout Nash, Tanner McNeely, Ryan McNeely and Tyler Presser. Nash collected five wins against one loss to finish third. Both Presser and Tanner McNelley combined to wrestle in 14 matches, each finishing with five wins against two losses in very competitive classes to finish fourth. Ryan McNelley grabbed four wins against two losses to also finish fourth.Two additional Top Dogs also posted multiple victories: Mahonri Hunsaker (3-2) and Gage Sigman (2-2).

On the other side of the Idaho Panhandle, Top Dog Kyle Csizmar dispatched of four opponents to capture the West Valley Classic in Spokane. The sophomore who was one match away from placing at the high school state championships last week in Pocatello, secured four pins to win the 119-pound weight class.
