Bob Parsons, 76

Bob Parsons, 76, longtime resident of Littleton, Colo., passed away on Friday, March 13, 2009.

Bob was born to Jim and Page Parsons on Sept. 13, 1932, in San Diego, Cailf. In 1945, the family moved to Sandpoint, where Bob graduated from Sandpoint High School on Euclid Avenue in 1950.

Bob went to the University of Idaho and got his master’s and doctoal degree from the University of Illinois. Upon graduation, he and wife, Sally, moved to Littleton where he began work for Marathon OIl Research Company. He retired from the company in his early 50s. He and Sally traveled extensively upon retirement.

In Littleton, he was currently volunteering with the Littleton Museum, Marathon Retirees and Friendship Force. He also is remembered for his work with Boy Scout Troop 117, Friends of the Museum/Library, the Littleton craft fair and Fiasco.

Besides his community involvement, he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying skiing, hiking and any time in the mountains. s a side note, he got his skiing start at the Pine Street ski hill in Sandpoint. He had a very keen interest in searching family genealogy.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sally (Holz); children, Brian (Kristy) and Alan(Jennifer); seven grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Clarice) of Sandpoint, Dick (Barbara) of Poulsbo, Wash.; sister, Janice (Dennis) Stoeser of Newman Lake, Wash.; sister-in-law, Doris Mae (Grant) Facer of Las Vegas, Nev.; and brother-in-law, Fritz Holz of Hope, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial celebration will be held at Littleton United Methodist Church on Saturday, march 28, at 10:30 a.m. Always remember, never forget.
