Sandpoint Mobile Tire Changing wheels into town

| March 18, 2009 9:00 PM

While many businesses seem to be closing, there is one new business in town that is thriving all while making life easier for the consumer.

Sandpoint Mobile Tire Changing opened in October and is already a hit among its many customers as Sandpoint residents Martin Rodriguez and Steve Wold partnered to bring the world of automotive maintenance and repair right to homes and workplaces.

“We will come to your home or business and change or rotate your tires, perform computerized balancing, repair a flat tire and even jump start your car,” said Rodriguez. “We also will perform emergency roadside assistance and general automotive service.”

An Automotive Certified Excellence certified technician, Wold is qualified to work on any type of vehicle.

Rodriguez said that when he and Wold show up at a customer’s home or business to perform an oil change or tune up, people ask them about the variety of services they perform on a vehicle. It has already led to electrical repair and other more involved vehicle repairs.

“We can do anything and everything,” said Rodriguez. “And the job gets done quickly. Instead of having your vehicle tied up all day, we can come to your home or business and get it done in 20 minutes.”

Rodriguez said he came up with the idea of a mobile automotive service years ago, but needed the right person to make it a reality. That person he said is Wold.

Wold and Rodriguez worked together while Wold was going to school to earn his degree in mechanics, and when he finished the two teamed up to form their new business. The goal is to make life easier for customers, Rodriguez said.

“I want people to start thinking outside the box,” said Rodriguez. “People are so used to having to go somewhere and wait for their vehicles.  This gives them a new and more convenient option. There is no more waiting in line and our full attention is at that one person’s vehicle.”

Sandpoint Mobile Tire Changing is offering a winter special for a fee of $35 which includes dismounting, mounting and balancing. A bargain especially when one doesn’t have to leave their home or office.

“It is a reliable and convenient way to service your vehicle,” said Rodriguez. “Especially nowadays when every minute counts.”
