A great opportunity to help our lake

Lake lovers now is the time, the time to make a difference. We in this community can make that difference, to take a bold step towards self determination.

That step can help save Lake Pend Oreille. A little help from a lot of us can beat back the insidious Eurasian milfoil that's strangling our waterways.

A local group effort is upon us to raise funds to control milfoil with the help of a little bug, the milfoil weevil. All it eats is milfoil.

The weevil is already here in the lake but not in large enough numbers yet to make a difference. This local effort will provide the numbers necessary to reduce the stranglehold on milfoil."Big Brother"  in Boise has pockets gone bare, a budget gone bad, no surprise there.

The buck stops here so join with Partners for Milfoil Control, a combination of local groups determined to beat milfoil.

Support Partners and the Native Milfoil Weevil Project at www.tristatecouncil.org. We can make a difference, but we need to contribute soon to get this program going and growing with donations needed by April 10.
