Whoopee, LPOSD's levy was approved

| March 25, 2009 9:00 PM

No more juveniles, they have sports, music and so will keep out of trouble. No more graffiti, they will have art classes at school. How about the property taxpayers, taxpayers about to lose their homes. An old man down the road has paid taxes for 70-some years to educate others people’s children. He had none of his own. He had one vote. His neighbor doesn’t own any property and has six children. He had two votes, he and his wife. There is nothing fair about the levy vote. What happened to two-thirds majority?

A local business cut their employees wages by a small percent to keep from laying off employees. They still have a job, can pay the rent or property taxes. They may be eating hamburger instead of lobster. Why don’t the school cut expenses, wages by a small percent? Home school is popular. Maybe we could all home school our kindergarten students. Would make quite a cut in expense. Teachers and extra busing.

I know one family that walked four miles to school in the good old days. All the family of six live in the community. Healthy and happy all successful property taxpayers. One even makes it with only one leg after a logging accident.
